Pierce County Sheriff’s detectives need your help to identify the suspect responsible for an armed robbery at a gas station.
"This is somebody who was pretty agitated," said Det. Ed Troyer.
The suspect walked into the store on Pacific Avenue South on Wednesday, Sept. 21 at 10:14 p.m. and immediately ordered a customer to hand over her cell phone. He then held the gun to the clerk's head.
"Took Newport cigarettes along with cash from the till, then fled the store," said Troyer.
The suspect is described as possibly an Asian male in his 30’s, approximately 5 feet, 8 inches tall and 190 pounds. He was seen wearing a black hooded jacket, light blue jeans, a black bandana, and a baseball hat with a royal blue bill.
"As the holiday season approaches, armed robberies pick up. People finance their ways through the holiday seasons through stealing and theft. We're not only seeing packages being stolen off porches, we're going to see people bringing it to this type of notch and commit armed robbery, so we want to get him caught as soon as we possibly can," said Troyer.
To view the surveillance video of the armed robbery, go to www.tpcrimestoppers.com. If you can identify the suspect, call Crime Stoppers of Tacoma-Pierce County at 1 (800) 222-TIPS. All calls are anonymous and there is a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest. This is one of the cases being featured this weekend on “Washington's Most Wanted” Friday night at 11 p.m. on Q13 FOX.
