The NW Furniture Bank has announced that the 7th annual Chair Affair fundraiser will be held on Friday, April 1 at the NW Furniture Bank, located at 117 Puyallup Ave., in Tacoma. Celebrating the beauty of art, creativity and reuse, Chair Affair includes a silent auction featuring one-of-a-kind artistic pieces made by local artists, many from recycled furniture. All the items are created just for the Chair Affair. A premier live auction will include VIP tickets to sports events, a “Dream Vacation” package to Hawaii, as well as weekend getaways to fun locations.
One of the highlights of the auction is a glass chair created just for the Chair Affair by the Museum of Glass Hot Shop artists. There will be more than 65 live and silent auction items to bid on; something for every interest and price range.
“The Chair Affair has become more than a fundraiser; it’s a unique evening of Furniture Bank supporters celebrating the important work of providing furniture to people. I am humbled by the community of support from large corporations, the restaurants, individuals and of course the artists,” said Bill Lemke, co-founder and executive director.
The NW Furniture Bank helps restore hope dignity and stability in our community by recycling donated furniture to people in need. Thanks to the generosity of our past sponsors and attendees, Chair Affair has raised more than $560,000. These gifts help provide a place to sit, a place to sleep and a place to eat for over 130 families a month. A recent client said, “I left a domestic violence situation and had to completely start over as a single mom with four children. We had no furniture and we slept on the floor with blankets. The Furniture Bank was a miracle in our lives. You filled our home with everything we could’ve possibly needed!”
Please come and enjoy a lovely evening of live music, drinks and delicious hors d’oeuvres and desserts from area restaurants such as El Gaucho , Pacific Grill, Snuffin’s Catering, Ammar’s Mediterranean Grill, Dirty Oscars Annex, and Happy Belly Pop Gourmet.
