The annual Duck Parade took place this year on Saturday, June 4, in its usual “duck-like” fashion! Community members young and old lined Bridgeport Way and watched the Curtis marching band, 16th CAB, Council Members, cars, fire trucks, Daffodil Princesses, cheerleaders, and many local businesses and community groups as they marched their way through town.

Over 500 people participated in this year’s parade, with just over 50 entries, some of which having upwards of 75 individuals marching. It was a cheerful event, full of laughter, smiles, community pride, and of course, lots of yellow duck-ware!

This great community parade was brought to you by the City of University Place Recreation Department who would like to send out a big “Thank You” to all the 2016 participants for making this parade such an incredible success.

The procession up Bridgeport was followed by the UPTown Cruisin’ Car Show in Market Square and the Fire Station 31 Open House, which featured an extremely entertaining watermelon eating contest as well as served over 1,500 hot dogs to all who came by.

Thank you to everyone who made this event possible!
