Don’t forget to mark your calendar for Friday, Dec. 2 from 5-8 p.m. for the lighting of the University Place Christmas Tree in Market Square.
Santa and his “team” from West Pierce Fire & Rescue will arrive at 5 p.m. for pictures inside the Civic Building Atrium ($5, with proceeds benefitting the Kiwanis Club of U.P.). Santa will take a break to “flip the switch” to light the tree at 6 p.m. and then resume photos until 8 p.m.
The evening’s festivities will also include dancers from University Place, holiday performances by U.P. students, twinkling lights by the outdoor fireplace and offerings by Top Pot Donuts and Home Town Dogs.
Spread the word and holiday cheer by joining us at this special holiday event!
Please note: there may be temporary road closures in the area around Market Square and Market Place West from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Dec. 2 so please be patient and plan accordingly.
